Does every tooth with root canal need a crown?
No. Those teeth can be restored with composite build up. It is a tooth colored filling material that gives the natural look to the teeth. Post and crown are the ideal way to restore those teeth, in order to decrease the risk of fracture but the cost is 8 times more than a buildup. In this economic times, most patients go for the buildup.

How long does a wisdom teeth surgery take?
Usually takes 45 minutes for the four wisdom teeth; sometimes it takes only 10 minutes. Is painless and fast. Now with sedation or/and laughing gas is just fun. See a one minute surgery done in our office here

How can I have my medical insurance pay for my mouth treatment?
Most medical insurance companies pay for any condition that eventually could affect your body if not treated. We can help you bill the medical insurance for you. see more information here

I received a bill from my medical insurance showing that I have to pay a lot of money, is that correct?
No. you only have to pay what you were told in our office before the treatment; Most of the insurance papers are billing information only. Remember that the insurance companies are in business to make money...no to pay money. They pay more when there is proof of savings for them in case of future complications when not treatment is performed, and that is the main reason to keep in contact with our office staff with any insurance billing requests or questions.

How long have you been billing medical insurance vs the dental insurance?
We bill the medical insurance companies since 1.993. for TMJ , facial pain and headache and for inflammatory conditions like abscess and others oral lesions since 1.997. They pay because they know if not treatment is performed, the patient could get worst involving the whole body health and utilize more  the emergency room and/or heart surgery due to such complications and those are called procedures with medical necessity. We also bill the dental insurance for regular dental needs like fillings and crowns.

What happens if I do not want to use my medical insurance?
We can still treat you and bill your dental insurance and if you do not want to bill your dental insurance, you just pay for the treatment.

My medical insurance is an HMO and you are not in my list of providers for sleep apnea or oral surgery, what can I do?
You can call your insurance company and ask them to give you a name of a doctor in the area that can treat you, otherwise they will pay us to treat you. This is called gap exception
